G ENERAL: Many patrons would like to learn more about a particular grape varietal or blend of wine. The C& C series of classes are therefore offered -- to allow folks to taste and thoughtfully compare distinct wines.C OMPARE & CONTRAST WINE CLASSES Watch the general Calendar of Events for upcoming dates and topics. Independent and distinct classes will include a review of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz/Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Zinfandel varieties -- as well as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling -- among others. Basic blends are also considered for comparison and contrast. The C & C classes are a great way to sharpen your understanding and appreciation for the impact of various regions upon wine. Differences are discussed and the reasons for those differences are considered. This is an intermediate series of classes, but beginners love to participate right along with those who already have a basic understanding of the world of fine wine. In fact it is this mix that generates lively discussions among participants -- to the benefit of all. There is no better way to learn than to taste wine. There is no better way to learn about a particular wine than to taste several samples of that wine in one sitting. This series is dedicated to this method of learning -- not to mention having fun.C heese, fruit, and bread are provided at all tastings. |
